ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR MEMBERSHIP
Children may be enrolled who are three, four or five years old at the opening of school. Law regulates the maximum number of children admitted and the school’s budget determines the minimum. A reasonable attempt is made to maintain a balance between boys and girls.
Admission is considered using the following criteria: date of application including the registration fee, age and sex of child, and adaptability of the family to the Cooperative Playschool philosophy and regulations. A teacher, co-chair or Registrar is required to meet with the parent(s) and child(ren) prior to enrollment to ensure a full understanding of the school’s philosophy and parental involvement. Priority is given to currently enrolled children until January 31. Children of former Co-op families will be given priority through the second week of February.
The Cooperative Playschool is open to students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, and national and ethic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and scholarships.
